Job Description

Under general direction of the Director, Specialty Logistics, manages the purchasing function for Innomar Strategies, Specialty Logistics Distribution Centers. This role is based in Milton, Ontario. Ensures containment of costs by managing the department including implementation of effective analysis to ensure purchases are in line with demand. Recommends and executes strategies in relation to purchasing contracts, programs and agreements resulting in increased value for Innomar Strategies. Operates as the primary purchasing contact and maintains good relationships to ensure a productive partnership.




PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reviews Purchase Orders and verifies the need for the purchase prior to approving; ensures approval matrix is followed Assists Finance with the review and investigation of all purchase price variances (PPVs) on a monthly basis as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring material/goods are ordered from suppliers in time to fulfill customer/distribution center demand.
  • Responsible for obtaining materials/goods from suppliers at the lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source and urgency of need.
  • Develops system forecasts based on historical demand or new customer requirements.
  • Coordinates regular program meetings to discuss initiatives affecting product demand
  • Works closely with the Programs and Distribution Centers to move any non-productive inventory.
  • Responsible for product sourcing to support Program and Quality requirements.
  • Responsible for obtaining provincial pricelists and ensuring system pricing accuracy.
  • Partners with suppliers and acts as an advocate for Innomar Strategies’ interests relative to suppliers' actions and policies.
  • Develops client reporting in line with client requests
  • Develops new solutions to various tactical challenges Innomar Strategies faces as it relates to procuring product, supplier and distribution center relations.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Suppliers, Programs and Distribution Centers to achieve and maintain the established Service Level objective.
  • Manages several contracts, programs and supplier agreements resulting in increased value for both Innomar Strategies and its customers.
  • Ability to resolve issues independently.
  • Performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character.
  • Develops and executes strategic decisions to find solutions to increase Innomar Strategies’ profitability.
  • Responsible for producing procurement related reports and statistical analysis.
  • Responsible for the creation of vendor scorecards and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Responsible for developing, implementing and achieving KPIs in relation to procurement and inventory matrices
  • Provide ongoing management, annual performance reviews, objective setting and training plans for all direct reports;
  • Performs related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Requires broad training in fields generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or Business Management or equivalent combination of experience and education; normally requires a minimum of six (6) years progressively responsible experience, including at least two (2) years’ experience at a manager level.
