Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Programs Manager is responsible for leading, supervising and the performance management of a defined team of pharmacy personnel within Innomar Specialty Pharmacy. The team of pharmacy staff will report directly to the Manager, Pharmacy Programs. Working with both internal and external customers, the Manager, Pharmacy Programs ensures customer satisfaction through the timely and accurate provision of pharmacy services.

This highly interdependent role requires continuous collaboration and a comprehensive understanding of Innomar Strategies Procedures, policies and principles while maintaining customer-focus. The Manager, Pharmacy Programs demonstrates and upholds ABC’s Core Competencies.


  • Paticipate in Strategic Planning Process and Budgeting process
  • Manage a team of Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Assistant including the selection, training and performance management of team members
  • Responsible for forecasting workloads and planning staff levels appropriately, in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy Services
  • Responsible for ongoing coaching and mentoring of the team members
  • Responsible for the successful on-boarding of new hires and cross-training of existing associates
  • Coordinate prescription workflow and related activities to meet daily deadlines
  • Ensure workload is shared equitably among associates
  • Collaborate with other pharmacy associates and Pharmacy Program Liaison Managers to achieve desired results
  • Monitor outgoing shipments and liaise with Transportation Manager and courier contacts
  • Consult regularly with Director of Pharmacy Services and Director of Network Pharmacy Services
  • Proactively address and resolve any operational and/or customer issues through a solutions-based approach. Escalate to the Director of Pharmacy Services any critical items
  • Responsible for the planning and launching of new products, programs and services in the pharmacy in conjunction with program leads where applicable
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for their program portfolio
  • Accountable for the performance of the services related to the products supported by their team
  • Work collaboratively with Innomar Patient Programs in fulfilling pharmacy responsibilities in program development and execution
  • Key contact and represent pharmacy at interdepartmental meetings
  • Liaise with the pharmacy Accountant to manage accounts receivable, assignment of benefits, and related documentation
  • Responsible for the inventory management and monthly reconciliation of the products managed by their team
  • Generate and enforce pharmacy metrics
  • Review and analyze reports, invoices or other financial documentation
  • Prepare, review and/or maintain Quality Assurance documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Forms and Work Instructions, CAPAs
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with KOL health care professionals
  • Fulfill any other duties within their scope of practice as outlined in the Job Description relevant to that designation
  • The Manager, Pharmacy Programs will also be assigned other duties and tasks as required from time to time

Job Requirements

  • Professional Certificate of Registration with OCP and two (2) years related experience;
  • OR Five (5) or more years of equivalent pharmacy experience;
  • OR completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree in a pharmacy-related field;
  • Minimum two (2) years Specialty Pharmacy experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of individuals


  • Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations;
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry an asset;
  • Previous supervisory or management experience an asset;
  • Strong proficiency in Kroll and adjudication practices;
  • Excellent knowledge of ODB/Trillium, and private 3rd Party payers’ policies;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Bilingualism, French/English is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of Innomar Programs is an asset;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
