Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:


Reporting into the Business Area Manager Nursing Operations, the Hepatitis Specialty Nurse (HSN) will be responsible for prescribing physician offices with referrals to the Innomar Pharmacy Network (with opportunity to utilize the InnomarClinics™) as well as various patient support programs. The HSN will also be responsible for certain aspects as it pertains to patient / care partner enrolment for the provision of reimbursement, scheduling and drug ordering.

This is a Part Time Guaranteed 24 hours a week role.




PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of information flow and management of business processes
  • Building our business through presentations to Physicians etc.
  • Travel throughout New Brunswick for presentations and to build business
  • Support in enhancing pharmacy and clinic services with KOLs
  • Play a significant role in planning, including an initiative geared toward operational and performance excellence
  • Process and attain required reimbursement forms (e.g. prior authorization, appeal letters) for reimbursement coverage for patients (e.g. manage communication with public and private providers)
  • Coordinates private and public coverage activity directly with insurers
  • Liaise, where required, with InnomarClinics™, including but not limited to scheduling, clinics
  • Liaise with the patient support programs supporting the patient’s prescribed medications
  • Liaise with the Innomar Pharmacy Network and other areas of the pharmacy division
  • Liaise with other health care providers, pharmacies and treatment centers and other agencies as required, to coordinate patient treatment, drug delivery and resolve issues as they arise
  • Maintain accurate data in pharmacy files and computer drives
  • Verify that customer receives correct prescription(s)
  • Adherence to College of Nurses standards of nursing practices
  • Reviews patient status and assists the prescribing physician to complete patient enrolment, prepare required reimbursement forms for public or private coverage by auditing patient charts, assessing previous therapies and tests in order to complete the e.g. Special Authorization form of the private and / or public coverage
  • Proactively processes and makes suggestions to enhance outcomes and quality of service
  • Completes all relevant reports (e.g. expenses, etc.) as per specified timelines and as per required standards
  • Reports Adverse Events / Severe Adverse Events following program Standard Operating Procedures
  • Database management and ongoing auditing of files and information captured
  • Please note that the HS Nurse can work out of Moncton, Fredericton or Saint John area



Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience in hematology and/or nephrology an asset
  • Two or more years of related pharmacy experience an asset
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
