Job Description

This position reports into the Manager of Applications Development, the Application Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining software packages used within ABS Canada/Innomar-Strategies. This role will include Project and Support based functions with the majority of work assignment being Project Deliverables. This individual will participate in the design phase of the Project and will focus his/her development activities during the build/construct phase.

As a result he/she will be able to translate business requirements, high level and detailed design specifications into development requirements.

 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  1. Develops detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system/program development.
  2. Codes, tests, debugs and documents complex programs, and enhances existing programs to ensure that data processing production systems continue to meet user requirements.
  3. Develops and maintains application design, program specification documents, and proprietary web applications.
  4. Identifies and resolves system operating programs in order to provide continuous business operations.
  5. Interacts with user management regarding project status and user requirements to promote an environment with improved productivity and satisfaction.
  6. Provides technical leadership and training for entry-level team members.
  7. Assists in scheduling and estimating costs to project completion in order to meet user requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Requires training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, computer sciences obtained through completion of a four year Computer Science Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Requires minimum of five (5) years’ experience in VB.Net programming, (C#, VB), experience using MS SQL Server databases, including development of tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and creating extensive T-SQL reports; 
  • Experience with Mulesoft
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience creating/managing DTS packages;
